The UN is considering reducing the number of countries involved in faltering international climate talks in an effort to push through a deal. In a document published yesterday, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) outlined the idea among back-up plans if stalled talks fail to produce a successor to the Kyoto protocol, which expires in 2012.
