Global Impact

This section allows you to view the impact we are having on our planet and how we are changing the Earth on a regional basis. This allows you to view information from our Earth Impact and our Environmental News database in one place.

We document the following in our Earth Impact database: Volcanic Eruptions, Earthquakes, Floods, Severe Storms and Tornadoes, Drought, Heatwave and Fire, Famine, Disease, Unusual Weather, Climate Changes, Climate Records, Winter Storms, Food, Animal and Plant Kingdoms and the Seas.

But why document this?

The United Nations in their Fourth Assessment Report in 2007 stated there would be an increase in storms, floods and other climate change related events.

Although not much publicised, the interior of the Earth is warming as well. The Earth's inner core could expell heat via volcanoes but with the surface heating up, the Earth has to balance itself so there is an increase in volcanic and seismic activity. As with everything in life, the warmer it gets, it expands in size and the Earth is no exception - further seismic activity will occur and diseases will be more common. Coupled with the melting polar ice caps, climate change is having a more disastrous impact on the Earth and our lives than we can possibly imagine.

The information shows this is correct. We were only aware of the initial effects of climate change so we cannot take credit for any of this for it was Ann Walker, after preparing a report for the UN on this, made us aware what is to come. The United Nations has confirmed 50% of Ann Walker's report is correct - the rest, they have no comment as it had yet to happen.

If the forests of the Earth are not protected and not allowed to rejuvenate so they can reduce the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, then the Earth will not recover. Sombre thought really, considering its our actions that have brought this about. (UN Fourth Assessment Report 2007 - humans are 90% likely to have caused climate change)
